The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) is an independent, quasi-judicial agency of the Government of Alberta. Our mission is to ensure that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta's energy resources and utilities services take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.

We regulate the safe, responsible, and efficient development of Alberta's energy resources: oil, natural gas, oil sands, coal, and electrical energy; and the pipelines and transmission lines to move the resources to market. On the utilities side, we regulate rates and terms of service of investor-owned natural gas, electric, and water utility services, as well as the major intra-Alberta gas transmission system, to ensure that customers receive safe and reliable service at just and reasonable rates.

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) was created, effective 15 February 1995, by the amalgamation of the Energy Resources Conservation Board and the Public Utilities Board. Effective 1 April 1996, the Alberta Geological Survey became part of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board.
